Ferrari Gt Racing

The 488 GT Modificata is exclusively for use on the track during track days and at Ferrari Club Competizioni GT events. It was in April of 1992 that the first Legend Car was unveiled at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The concept of creating a fun and affordable "spec" class of racing for anyone to participate in was born. Legend Cars are 5/8-scale fiberglass full-fendered versions of the famed NASCAR modifieds driven by legendary drivers such as Fireball Roberts, Buck Baker, Curtis Turner, Speedy Thompson, and Banjo Matthews.

Beyond being a sport where the best drivers and teams are pitted against one another, modern racing is equally as competitive on the tech front. Car racing has evolved to be so much more than just watching fast cars drive around a track, so we have put together this list of all the major types of auto racing that you can watch on TV and even take part in. In early racing, in both Europe and the United States, competing race cars were usually prototypes of the following year’s models. Still later stock-car racing in 1939 started with standard models modified for racing. There are quite a few different types of grassroots rallying that enthusiasts can take part in, though you’ll want a car that you won’t mind getting dirty and beat up.

Rallying also differs from other racing series because teams have to tackle timed sections where the passenger acts as a co-driver, giving the driver directions on a section. These directions are called “pace notes” and they’re a shortened code that the co-driver reads aloud to the driver so they know what’s coming up. Professional and gentleman racers can take advantage of “one-make” series where automakers have a range of vehicles that meet the necessary requirements straight from the factory. Unfortunately, a lot of these automaker-backed series are reserved for exotic car brands. A few of the more well-known series include Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Ferrari Challenge, and Porsche Supercup.

The National Auto Sport Association also provides a venue for amateurs to compete in home-built factory-derived vehicles on various local circuits. The major touring car championships conducted worldwide are the Supercars Championship , British Touring Car Championship, Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters , and the World Touring Car Championship. The European Touring Car Cup is a one-day event open to Super 2000 specification touring cars from Europe's many national championships. Touring car racing is a style of road racing that is run with production-derived race cars. It often features full-contact racing due to the small speed differentials and large grids.

Contrary to what may be popularly assumed, racing drivers as a group do not have unusually better reflexes or peripheral response time. In this, researchers have noted a strong correlation between racers' psychological profiles and those of fighter pilots. In tests comparing racers to members of the general public, the greater the complexity of the information processing matrix, the greater the speed gap between racers and the public. Tyres called R-Compounds are commonly used in motorsports for high amounts of traction. The soft rubber allows them to expand when they are heated up, making more surface area on the pavement, therefore producing the most traction. Tyre pressure is dependent on the temperature of the tyre and track when racing.

Single-seater racing is not limited merely to professional teams and drivers. In the UK, the major club series are the Monoposto Racing Club, BRSCC F3 , Formula Vee and Club Formula Ford. Each series caters for a section of the market, with some primarily providing low-cost racing, while others aim for an authentic experience using the same regulations as the professional series .

The most obvious series when talking about rallying is the World Rally Championship . Over the course of a year, WRX consists of 13 events that last three days each. While rally cars may look small, they pack a massive punch with roughly 600 horsepower. The modern kart was invented by Art Ingels, a fabricator at the Indianapolis-car manufacturer Kurtis-Kraft, in Southern California in 1956. Ingels took a small chainsaw engine and mounted it to a simple tube-frame chassis weighing less than 100 lb. Ingels, and everyone else who drove the kart, were startled at its performance capabilities.

The goal of the online game is to complete the entire route without flying off the road. Outrun your rivals and be the first to reach the finish line! Points are earned for agility, accuracy, and an irresistible desire to win. Practice sessions are pretty normal stuff, but qualifying is where things get interesting.
